Of course you have too much to do and didn’t get a speech ready. That’s not a problem. If you don’t want to take the time to read my blog and do more research trying to find out to give a great speech do what I did in the end.
Get the wonderful little electronic download book of bride speeches from the company that publishes books for all kinds of wedding speeches. An hour from now you can have a great speech adapted from any of the example speeches in the book.
If you are in a hurry don’t waste your time. The books are very inexpensive and make it really easy and simple.
Click on the picture of the book over in the right column and you’ll go right to the site where you can pick the wedding speech book you want.

I am happy to report that my bride speeches research and planning was worth it. I felt wonderful about the speech I gave and all the positive feedback I got. The result was worth the effort.
I remembered the five most important points and hardly needed my notes:
- I thanked everyone who helped with the planning and execution of the wedding making it the perfect day for me and a day I’ll always remember.
- I thanked my parents and family and had some very funny stories about growing up with my wonderful brothers and sisters.
- I thanked my husband’s family for being so warm and welcoming to me and how I already felt like I was part of their family.
- Then I had a really funny story about how I met my husband that was also very romantic. That gave me the opportunity to talk about what a truly amazing human being he is.
- Finally I thanked several people who had made such special contributions to who I am and helped to make this day happen.
I didn’t embarrass myself or start crying even once. I also remembered to not go on forever. No on likes a long speech.
Afterward everyone told me how funny and inspiring my speech had been. I think it will be one of the bride speeches they will always remember.
I hope my tips and advice will help you create a speech just as wonderful!

I was truly terrified when my fiance said we were each going to give a speech at our wedding. I’ve been planning my perfect wedding since I was 13 and, believe me, it did NOT include me giving a speech. But not wanting to disappoint him I agreed and set to work.
How I planned by bridal speech
I spent hours on the Internet and, if you are interested, you can just click here to see what I found to be the best source for bride speeches. The bridal speech is a lot like any speech but also very special and different in many ways.
Probably the first thing you want to do is thank everyone, especially the people who put in a lot of effort. Include everyone’s names as that makes them feel good and guarantees they will pay attention.
A good idea is to repeat your thank you’s again at the end of the speech very briefly. Include everyone in the wedding party, especially if someone had to come from very far away or you feel very honored that someone was able to come.
Of course don’t forget to mention your new husband. Express your love and gratitude for him and give a couple of examples. Try to get in some things both funny and romantic or emotional.
Finally, don’t forget to thank your parents because they created you and helped you become the person you are.
These steps make up the general outline of the speech. In my next post I’ll talk about some more particular details.
